And just like that, we’re in year 2020! I hope you all had a great time with family, friends and good food over the holidays! I sure did!
For now, allow me to look back at the past year and be grateful for everything 2019 has given me. It was a great year for our family, a year of dreams coming true.
We moved to our own home!
January 2019, our own home was finally ready! We waited 3 years for this and when we received the email that our unit will be turned over earlier than scheduled, we were ecstatic! We did not move in until April though since we had to make our space livable. Getting the furniture was exciting yet expensive, Lol! But, we enjoyed the entire process – going from one appliance store to another scouting for the best deals, measuring walls and floors so we can get the right furniture that will fit our space.
I wrote about getting our own home back in 2012 and it still gives me the goosebumps thinking how precise my intention has manifested itself but that deserves a separate post. For now, we’ve been here for nine months, we’re loving our small community and we’re looking forward to creating more memories in our humble home.
I have my own domain!
I wanted to have my own blog domain for the longest time and in 2019, I finally made that happen. I paid for the domain, studied on my own how to work around the dashboard and found an artist who custom-made my blog header and logo. Hi, Sarah!
It was a long time dream of mine since I started blogging in 2009. But then, I gave birth to two kids, I have a family to take care of, a full time job to go to everyday. Writing was put in the backseat until August of 2019 when I finally decided to start doing something for myself, something that I’ve always loved to do. To write.
The unexpected success of The Crayon Station Ph!
I only wanted to make molded crayons for my boys and a few giveaways for the birthday parties of my two nieces. Who would have thought I will be molding more than 4,000 pieces of crayons and selling more than 1,000 sets in just two months since I launched the page in October?! It was crazy, it was stressful but I loved every minute of it! They say do something you love and you’ll never work a day in your life – I felt that when I was doing the crayons. I will be offering DIY coloring station soon, so please like us on Facebook and Instagram!
Ten years with this guy!
We reached 10 years of marriage in 2019 but we were not able to celebrate it the way I would have wanted to – yaya problems, work schedules, budget constraints because of the move in. There was drama on the day because I’m the type who thinks all occasions are worth celebrating, at least with cake, you know. But thinking about it now, what better way to commemorate a decade of being together than spending it at our own home, with the kids, with a bottle of wine. Which we did the weekend after May 8th, our anniversary. If you’re reading this, sorry for the drama and I’d gladly celebrate our 15th, 20th and 50th quietly, at home. But please buy some cake next time. Love you then, love you still.
Happy New Year, everybody! May 2020 be amazing to all of us!
