I am always searching for activities for my kids to do even before the ECQ started. There are a lot of websites offering free printable worksheets and it’s not hard to find some for a specific grade level such as my eldest, who is an incoming Grade 4. However, as I’ve mentioned before, my youngest was attending Occupational and Speech Therapy sessions prior to the lockdown and as much we’d like for him to continue his sessions, Covid-19 made it impossible for now. So, what I do, I keep on thinking and searching for activities that will aid him to continue his development. Although there are also a lot of resources for this, most require specific toys and materials that we currently don’t have.

How are you doing, everybody? We’re entering the third week of the Enhanced Community Quarantine here in the Philippines. I hope you are all safe and healthy!
How are your kids doing? School was cancelled without finishing the final quarter. I have two boys, both loud, both into mobile games and You Tube. While there was still school, they are only allowed to use gadgets during weekends. Now that summer vacation started early, I am on ends on how to keep them both busy without relying on the gadget that much.

My eldest son is in third grade this year. Since he started school, I make it a point to review him during exams week. As soon as their pointers to review were handed down, pagpupuyatan ko na ang paggawa ng practice exams nya after work, then pagdating ng weekend magre-review na kami nyan.
I usually sit down with him and go through all his lessons in every subject then I leave him alone to answer the practice exams that I did. This year, I want him to form his own study habits. Kaya I told him to go through all his lessons on his own. I made him study the subjects according to their exam schedule – for example, first day of exams will be Cultural Arts and Health, that’s what I made him study first and so on and so forth. Then I give him the practice exams that I prepared.
