My eldest son is in third grade this year. Since he started school, I make it a point to review him during exams week. As soon as their pointers to review were handed down, pagpupuyatan ko na ang paggawa ng practice exams nya after work, then pagdating ng weekend magre-review na kami nyan.
I usually sit down with him and go through all his lessons in every subject then I leave him alone to answer the practice exams that I did. This year, I want him to form his own study habits. Kaya I told him to go through all his lessons on his own. I made him study the subjects according to their exam schedule – for example, first day of exams will be Cultural Arts and Health, that’s what I made him study first and so on and so forth. Then I give him the practice exams that I prepared.

Aside from wanting to be a doctor nung bata pa ako, gusto kong maging writer. Kaya nga I started to blog nung preparing kami magpakasal ng asawa ko. Blogging for me then was like my online diary where I post what I want, when I want.
Few years into married life, I became busy with work and our two kids. I post less frequently then eventually stopped blogging. Sayang nga, because I worked hard to create the little traffic my personal blog was getting then and I was actually receiving sponsored posts which I get paid as well. Kaya lang, family comes first.
Now, my kids are both going to school. Hindi na masyadong alagain, madaldal nga lang pareho, but finally I have the extra time to do something for myself – to write.

Hi everybody! Welcome to my blog, This Filipina Mom.
I am a mom to two wonderful boys, Johan and Jeron. I married my husband, Deck, in 2009 after being in a relationship for eight years. I have a full time day job which I love but time came when the kids’ needs are growing by the day and I wanted to stay home as much as I can to be with them. That was the time that I started this blog. It was during a time when I was at a crossroad as to what to choose – my career or staying home for the kids.
I love writing. I used to blog consistently since 2009, I even earned thru sponsored posts. I eventually stopped when I gave birth to my youngest son, Jeron. I just don’t have enough time for everything then. I was too busy with work, I have two kids to take care of at home, I have a husband who needs me as well. Writing was put in the backseat.
Then vlogging became a thing. I tried to join the bandwagon but the introvert in me is so conscious in front of the camera that I don’t see myself as vlogger anytime soon. Maybe I’ll post a few video clips now and then.
I really want to concentrate on this and go back to writing. I love books and I am in awe with authors who have a way of making me imagine that I am part of a particular scene in the book. I wish to be like that – to be able to write great content, compose sensible articles, become a storyteller that would play with your imagination. Who knows, I might even write a book someday?
So, here’s to my new journey in writing. Come join the ride with me.
