I am always searching for activities for my kids to do even before the ECQ started. There are a lot of websites offering free printable worksheets and it’s not hard to find some for a specific grade level such as my eldest, who is an incoming Grade 4. I posted some of the websites where I get free printables in the following posts:
However, as I’ve mentioned before, my youngest was attending Occupational and Speech Therapy sessions prior to the lockdown and as much we’d like for him to continue his sessions, Covid-19 made it impossible for now. So, what I do, I keep on thinking and searching for activities that will aid him to continue his development. Although there are also a lot of resources for this, most require specific toys and materials that we currently don’t have.
Day #45 of the Extended Community Quarantine and I know it’s been hard for everybody. We may have different family dynamics – some dads cook, do the laundry, are the designated tributes to do the groceries – but, this post is for the moms who are working doubly hard now that everybody’s staying home.
If you’re like me who likes to plan, I can just imagine the thought bubbles in your head. I understand and won’t judge your need to have separate spreadsheets of meal plans, grocery list, savings and expenses because I’m like that. I need to see in writing what needs to be done, what’s missing from our supplies, how much money I have left.
So, the Enhanced Community Quarantine is extended until May 15, 2020. Today is Day #40 of the Luzon-wide ECQ here in the Philippines. As of latest, we have the following stats:
I am one of the lucky few who were given the chance to work from home. It has been a long time dream of mine to gradually shift from an office-based job to a home-based one because I wanted to be with the kids more. When the ECQ was announced, it only took a couple of days to set-up the tools I needed to be able to work from home. Everything was done remotely since everybody from the office were already staying home at the time. Technology is awesome! Our IT team is awesome!
I am very grateful for work, it’s a routine, yes. But, at this time of a pandemic crisis when everything is unpredictable, I think we all need a bit of a routine in our daily lives.
